Give thanks

It's almost October's end. Everything is yellow and orange--decorations sit outside each house--corn stalks and gourds, pumpkins getting devoured by squirrels, Fun fests, and bake sales, and costumes decided on. Then we all start to think Thanksgiving and holidays. Still, take the time to enjoy each day--even the chilly ones, for those of us in the Midwest--savor as many moments as you can. Appreciate every possible human interaction. And remember that this year, in 2007, hords of people have had to flee their neighborhoods and homes--wildfires in the southern CA region. Remember to realize your blessings and give thanks.

September 28, 2007

It's almost the beginning of autumn...but we're not quite there yet. I love this time of year, because I love the inbetween. The not-quite is infinitely more interesting than anything more 'finished' or definitive. I've learned that the inbetween is where all the real fun takes place.
It's September 28th--my son has turned 23 tonight. It makes me reflect on what a great year that is in a person's life-- to be 23. I can't even tell you what I was doing--actually,that seems to be one of the great things about being 23--who cares what you're doing! But I want to tell anyone out there even close to 23 that I also know it is a trying time. And I would love to hear from anyone out there-- Hey...what do you think about 23?
